Our prayers are with the family. Dan was a good friend. We were both avid readers and he would bring me his magazines after he read them. Saw him just a few weeks ago and he looked good. He was a great mayor and did a lot for Ruston. He will be missed by many.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

Dear Hollingsworth Family, I met Dan in 1971 when he hired me for my first job in the broadcasting industry. I credit an for the 44 year career I experienced in radio station ownership and management. Dan taught me the importance of strong community involvement and selfless service in business. an and I served in leadership together on the Board of the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters. We have kept in touch over the years, but more so over the last several years by communicating often via texts, calls and emails. I will miss Dan very much as I know you will. He was truly an honorable man with the utmost in integrity. I have considered it an honor to have been friends with Dan for so many years. I hope you find peace in knowing that he is now in the comfort of our Lord and Savior, and that we all will once again be together with him one day! John L. Peroyea II

Prayers are being lifted for all of you during this time of healing. Uncle Dan was a wonderful example of compassion, ambition, and love for the Lord. Please accept my sincerest condolences. My prayers include the family and friends of Mr. Dan Hollingsworth. Remember the good memories that you have of him. Dan Hollingsworth was a breath of fresh air for Ruston, LA when he was first elected as Mayor in 1998. Mayor Hollingsworth changed the culture at City Hall during his 16 years of public service. Dan was a great leader and had a wonderful vision for Ruston. Dan was a man that said what he meant and meant what he said after giving thoughtful consideration to any situation and to everyone concerned. I consider it a blessing to have known Dan personally and to have been able to learn from his example.
