Funeral services for John Wilmot Ford will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Olive Branch Church in Union County, Arkansas. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until the time of service at 2:00 PM. Interment will follow at Olive Branch Cemetery near Junction City, AR. Mr. Ford was born August 26, 1926 in Union County, Arkansas and passed away October 13, 2010. Mr. Ford was the only son of the late John P. Ford and Lucille Tatum Ford. He attended Louisiana Tech University and was a graduate of Louisiana State University. Mr. Ford was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Monroe, LA, where he was also a member of the Men's Bible Class. He was a longstanding member of the National Rifle Association, The National Association for Retired Federal Employees and a veteran of World War II. Mr. Ford was employed with the Farmers Home Administration in Richland Parish for a number of years. He later was a special agent for the Home Insurance Company of New York, working in Tennessee and later in Alabama. He also was a real estate appraiser with the Arkansas State Highway Department. For the last twenty years prior to his retirement he was an appraiser and inspector with the Federal Housing Administration. His wife Martha Sizemore Ford preceded him in death. Surviving him are one stepdaughter, Connie Killian, and several cousins. Pallbearers will be Steve Cranford, Bryant Cranford, Michael Ford, Myron Ford, Brian Ford, Darrell Ford, Kevin Hux and Glenn Cockrell.
