Memorial services for John “Steve” Stevens Taylor, 83, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Revival Campground Church, in West Monroe, Louisiana. Stanton Groan and Clyde Walker will officiate. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 1:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes, West Monroe.
Steve was born on January 29, 1941, and left this earth on November 26, 2024, to his eternal resting place. Steve was a Veteran of the United States Navy. He had a love of nature, including hunting and fishing. Steve enjoyed traveling with Lou and playing with his grandchildren. Above all, he loved his family. Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Opal Roye Parker; father, Augusta Leopold Taylor; and brother, William “Billy” Parker, who recently passed.
Steve is survived by his wife, Lou Ella Taylor; children, Stephanie Williamson and husband Dan, Angela Reeves, and Paula Reeves; grandchildren, Rachel Prestridge and husband Billy, Clayton Southern and fiance Jessica, Payton Richardson, Tyler Richardson, T.J. Southern; great-grandchildren, Eli, Baker and River Prestridge, Savannah Southern, “yet to be born” Lainey Southern, Chase and Johnny; sisters, Joy Winn, Brenda Marsala and husband Charles, Ann Demoss and husband Russell; sister-in-law, Linda Parker; a host of nieces and nephews; along with other cherished family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of the VA Home Based Primary Care and St. Joseph Hospice for their care of Steve.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
