Funeral services for Mr. John Simpson Culpepper, 77, will be 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 21, 2010, at Parkview Baptist Church, Monroe, LA with Dr. Whit Holmes officiating. Interment will be at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, LA. Mr. Culpepper was born November 3, 1932 in Monroe, LA and passed away August 11, 2010 in Slidell, LA after an extended illness. After serving as a navigator in the US Air Force, John worked for several companies in the Monroe area as a professional engineer. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as, a skilled archer and knife maker. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Martha Ann Coon Culpepper. He is survived by his daughter: Marguerite Culpepper Carbrey and her husband, Lee of Slidell, LA; his son: John Daniel “Dan” Culpepper and his wife, Dee Ann of Beaumont, TX; grandchildren: Kristin, and Caroline Carbrey, Caitlin Carbrey Campbell and her husband, Bobby of Monroe, and Danielle and Dylan Culpepper. Pallbearers will be Dickie Culpepper Jr., Fred Coon III, Henson Coon III, Jay Coon, Lewis Coon, and Bobby Campbell. Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until the time of service at Parkview Baptist Church, Monroe.
