Memorial services for John L. Hutson, Jr., 83, will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 5, 2010 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe, La. with Brother Don Delukie, Brother Ray Paseur, and Brother Blaine Adkins officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick's Serenity Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Mr. Hutson was born April 11, 1927 and died September 3, 2010. He was retired from Louisiana Power and Light after 42 years of service. He was a Korean War veteran, a life time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, #3993, a member of the American Legion, a member of Cadeville Masonic Lodge, and past member of the West Monroe Lions Club. His parents, John L. Sr. and Leola Hutson, preceded Mr. Hutson in death. Mr. Hutson is survived by his wife of 61 years, Viola Walls Hutson of West Monroe; his son, John Randall Hutson of Houston, Texas; his daughters, Brenda Adkins and husband, Blaine of West Monroe; Lori Hutson of Baton Rouge, La; and Judy Poole and husband Donald of West Monroe; granddaughters, Kristin Bryan and husband Craig; Laura Adkins, and Lindsey Hutson; grandsons Joseph Adkins, Jesse Adkins, and Ben Adkins and his wife Melissa; and his two great granddaughters Payton and Paisley Adkins. Pallbearers will be his grandsons, including Craig Bryan, and his nephews, Randy McKinney and Wayne Heckford. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice. Visitation will be Saturday, September 4, 5:00 – 8:00 PM and Sunday, September 5, from 1:00 pm until service time. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com
