Linda, my heart goes out to you and your family at this time. I have seen John’s name in the news a few times over the 37 years I have lived in Monroe and wondered if it was the same John Causey that coached at Marshall High School when I was a student there. Today as I read his obituary I pulled out my yearbooks and now I had enough info to know that it was him. And you were our PE teacher. I remember how well liked you both were by all the students! I will keep you and your family in my prayers.
Ed Regan left a message on June 6, 2020:
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Causey family today as they celebrate the life of John. What a great legacy he leaves, in community service, as an educator and coach, as a role model as a family man, and as a member of the family of faith. He touched so many lives in a positive way that the world really is a better place because of the life of John Causey. Joy & Ed Regan
Jon Barker left a message on June 6, 2020:
I could always count on John to hail me from across a parking lot or the grocery store--where we most often saw each other. As my paternal grandfather liked to say, "He was a prince of a fellow." Best wishes to each of the family who are grieving; may the Comfort of our Heavenly Father be with each of you.

No words can make any of the pain or heartache disappear. We lost a good one and Heaven gained one. Thoughts and prayers for Linda and all the family. Miss you John.
Scotty Dyer left a message on June 5, 2020:
I got to meet John when He came to our little league team when I was 11. Pam has known him since they were in the 7th grade. I was told His Dad as sheriff would round up my dad and his brother and take them home when needed. Longtime ties with John and his great family. Condolences for your loss at this time. May God keep you in His peace during this time. Scotty and Pam.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
March and Sue Smith left a message on June 5, 2020:
John was such a very special man. He was loved by everyone that had the privilege of knowing him.He made you feel so special when you were with him even if he didn’t know you very well. His smile was contagious . Everyone knew who was first in his life, and that was Jesus first, then husband, father, grandfather and his friends. John just loved life. We will always miss him. He was my nieces father-in-law and I loved him and his family so much. Life want be the same without him, but Heaven is rejoicing to have him with all the saints, and walking the streets of gold with Jesus. March just reminded me of how much his mother enjoyed dancing with John at CLINT’s wedding and Mom saying what a wonderful dancer he was. Mon just loved dancing and enjoyed her dance with John so very much. Love to all the family and praying for you all.
Terrence Tarver left a message on June 5, 2020:
I can still remember meeting Max for the first time in the lunch line at West Monroe Junior High. Unbeknownst to me, the Causey family had descended on West Monroe, and soon enough, they'd be instrumental on, and have a positive impact in, athletics and academics in the coming years. From that moment, Max and I would go on to play baseball and football together, among other things, and over the course of that time, I would meet Mrs. Linda, little Molly (future Miss Louisiana (are you kiddin' me!)). . .and obviously, passionate and funny Coach Causey! I thank God for all that. As it turned out, Coach Causey was one of my favorite coaches at West Monroe High School during our three-peat run of State Championships in the mid to late 1990s, which included a National Championship. I can still see Coach with his cap on, skin super tanned from the beating sun, pencil behind his ear, t-shirt, shorts, little boot on his bum foot, his little stool to sit on when possible, and screaming, "YA MULLET"! On down time, I can see him doing The Macarena! All jokes and funny stories aside, he was vital to our success. Period. End of story. I've thought about Coach and his family every day this week since I learned of his passing. I'm saddened. The Tarver Family is saddened, and we would like to express our deepest condolences to the Causey Family. Our hearts go out to you. We also would like to thank Coach Causey and family for coming to West Monroe and sharing your lives with us and making them better. That had to be an extremely tough decision, and many, including the Tarver Family, benefited from same. Thank you! In light of everything going on in America, I want to be sure to end with this. If there were more people living here that lived their lives like Coach Causey, America would be a much better place. Rest in peach Coach! We miss ya!

jackie and i were so saddened to learn of the passing of coach causey. what a wonderful family... and i know that comes from dedicated, loving parents. it was our privilege to know this family... and to know john through the years. he coached my son britt (who always thought the world of him and teammate max) and he would crack me up with his humor and wry comments on life and football. then, he and i met again during "pageant world." he was indeed a wonderful pageant dad always supporting molly during her competition years. we would sit in the audience and strategize... pageants indeed were like a sport. he reminded me that former coach (and friend) robert charles payne once said that "pageants are like a football game... without the scoreboard!" lol i never saw him without a smile or an encouraging word... especially when me and my family needed that word! our thoughts are prayers are with each of you. may god continue to bless you with his measure of strength, comfort and peace. our love, david and jackie
