Memorial services for John Royce Dewitt Jr., 80, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday February 22, 2023 at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum. Rev. Marion Collier will be officiating, under the direction and care of Kilpatrick Funeral Home-Monroe.
Mr. Dewitt was born January 1, 1943 in Chicago, IL and passed away February 17, 2023 in Monroe, LA. Mr. Dewitt was a retired pipeline welder, he was able to travel the world and meet some very interesting people through his occupation. He had a love of music and dance and was an accomplished Saxophonist. John was also HAM radio operator (KO5B), offering his services during several natural disasters.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Dewitt Sr. and Mary Darr Dewitt. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 31 years, Hazel Dewitt; son, John “Rich” Dewitt Jr.; step-daughter, Carmetta Spillers; and 2 sisters, Beth Street and Doris Ann Dewitt.
