Mr. Joe M. Richardson Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Services for Mr. Joe M. Richardson, Jr. will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 27, 2011 at Trinity United Methodist Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Jerry Hilbun, and Rev. Brian Mercer. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mr. Richardson was born May 23, 1934 and passed away May 23, 2011. He was preceded in death by his parents: Erline and Joe M. Richardson, Sr. and his brother: Paul S. Richardson. Born in Ruston on May 23, 1934, Joe was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He was a professional photographer and owned a commercial studio in Ruston for 15 years. He was employed by Gittings, Inc. of Atlanta Georgia for 8 years, and 7 years as area manager for Olan Mills Studios. He was a graduate of Ruston High School and Winona School of Professional Photography and attended LA. Tech. He served in the U.S. Army as an ammunition chief in anti-aircraft artillery gun battery near Eielson AFB, Alaska. He was elected to two terms on the Ruston Board of Aldermen; served as president and is a lifetime member of the Ruston Jaycees. He was honored as the Outstanding Young Man in 1967. He was a charter member, board member, and treasurer of Ruston High School Alumni Association. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Mary McMahon Richardson; and four sons: Kerry and wife Kim of Hallsville, Texas, Kyle of Norcross, Georgia, Joe M. Trey III and wife Laura of Roswell, Georgia and Mark and wife Susan of Ruston; five grandchildren: John, Nick, Kalen, Amanda and Katie Richardson. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Milner, John C. Richardson, Nicholas M. Richardson, Kalen C. Richardson, Stan Richardson, Jr, and John Bucky Richardson. Honorary Pallbearers will Jerry Callender, Jimmy Hoogland, , Johnny Maxwell, and Eston Payne. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Thursday, May 26, 2011 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
