Ashley left a message on January 20, 2007:
Mr. Joe Buck was a great man. When I worked at the Sheriff's Office I enjoyed seeing him come through the back door, then sitting down talking with him. He always had an interesting story to tell. When we discovered we had the same birthday, I heard many stories of birthdays past from Mr. Joe Buck. And he was always so sweet. He will be greatly missed by many people. May God bless you all and comfort you throughout this time. Sincerely, Ashley Rhodes

Joe buck was one of the finest, most couragous, god fearing man i have had the pleasure to meet.his visits twice daily to our office with sweetie and honey{sweetie didn't like me but honey did} would cheer us up in every way. even though Joe buck had retired,he was still one of us. we called him our k-9 unit because of his dogs.we grieved as he did when "killer"died and we are grieving at Joe bucks passing. we pray that our LORD WILL GIVE EVELYN AND EACH OF YOU THE PEACE AND GRACE TO HELP GET YOU THRU THESE NEXT DAYS. if i or any of us can be of any help we ask that you call on us. again may God bless and keep you. sheriff bob Buckley and fellow deputies
