Funeral services for Mr. Joe B. Hamilton, Sr. will be held Tuesday, January 4, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Dubach, with Rev. Barry Joiner officiating, assisted by Rev. Todd Free and Bro. Reagan Colvin. Visitation will be held Monday, January 3, at Kilpatrick's Funeral Home from 5pm-8pm. Interment will be at Hamilton Cemetery, Dubach under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston, LA. Mr. Hamilton was born September 23, 1923 and went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 2, 2011. Mr. Hamilton was a member of First Baptist Church of Dubach for 75 ½ years, where he served as a deacon. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII serving in the European Theater and a member of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Dubach volunteer fire department for over 30 years. Mr. Hamilton was co-owner of Hamilton and Sons grocery from 1949-2002. His number one love was serving our Lord and Savior. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, golf, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Jacqueline Hogan Hamilton of Dubach; daughter, Frances Elaine Rupert and husband Greg of Winnfield, LA; son, Joe B. Hamilton, Jr., and wife Vicky of Dubach; grandchildren Russell Croxton and wife Jennifer of Dubach; Toni Croxton Morganthall and husband Charlie of Ruston; Sean Rupert and wife Windy of Fort Worth, Texas; Kristen Hamilton of Dubach; great-grandchildren, Heather Croxton of Dubach; CJ Morganthall of Ruston; Amanda Croxton of Dubach; Cole Morganthall of Ruston; sisters-in-law, Iwilla Hamilton and Margie Anderson; brothers-in-law, Charles Hogan, James Hogan, and Richard F. Cox. Mr. Hamilton is preceded in death by parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Hamilton, and brothers, James Hamilton, Eugene Hamilton, and Bill Hamilton. Pallbearers will be Sean Rupert, Charlie Morganthall, Tommy Green, Jim Green, Ronnie Smith, Don Mears, and Bill Elmore. Honorary Pallbearers will be Deacons of First Baptist Church of Dubach, CJ Morganthall, and Cole Morganthall. In lieu of flowers, planned memorials are requested to be made to First Baptist Church of Dubach, or to the charity of the donor's choice.
