I worked with Mr. Joe when he was Chairman of Union Community Action Association, Inc. Board of Directors. He was a very sincere individual who was interested in making Farmerville and Union Parish a better place for all its people. He has been missed.
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

The entire Brantley family has suffered a tremendous loss with the passing of Uncle Joe. Happiness always seemed to follow him. With heavy hearts we mourn the loss of this precious family member; yet, we find comfort in knowing that he is with his beloved Barbara, his parents, and his three brothers, Donrae, Theron, and my father, Jurd. Prayers for his children and granchildren whom he loved so much. Prayers also for his brother, Hoss, and sister, Goldie as they say goodbye to another brother, with whom they shared so many good times. What wonderful memories of a very special man.

Praying strength and peace for the entire family. Papa Joe will be extremely missed by all. He treated us "youngun's" like his own children, and you never saw him that he didn't have a joke or story to lighten your day. Heaven is laughing at one of them right now! Love to you all.

I'm so very sorry to hear of Papa Joe's passing. He was such a loving man and I know that he will be sorely missed. I can only imagine the joyous reunion in Heaven with him and Mrs. Barbara. What a legacy they have left and both had a deep impact on me. Even though I hadn't seen them in many years, I still have the wonderful memories of spending the majority of my childhood at their house. Papa Joe had the best laugh and could light up a room with his great smile. Please know that I am thinking and praying for you all. Sincerely, Courtney Coplen Gilmore
