Betsy, I am so sorry for your loss. When I arrived at Henderson State Teachers College I knew nobody, but soon began to appreciate Jimmy Golden as a friend and fellow football player. He was personable, congenial and helped me a great deal to settle in and be part of the Henderson community. I played football thirteen years in schools & the Service, Jimmy was the best pass defender against me I ever knew! I loved him and you; a wonderful and loving couple. I miss him already. Mike Hamer

Betsy, I was deeply saddened to hear of Coach Golden’s sudden and untimely passing. I played football for Coach in Crossett. I graduated in 1967 and played on the 1966 championship team. Coach Golden inspired us, pushed us and cared for us. We dearly loved him. We would have run through a wall for him. Please accept my deepest condolences for this devastating loss. God bless and keep you. You will be with Jimmy again. May Jesus Give You Peace, Charles Jordan
