Funeral services for Mr. Jimmie L. Wilson, 71, of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 19, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in West Monroe. Rev. Rodney J. Sanders will be officiating and interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mr. Wilson was born October 22, 1935 in Harrisonburg, LA and passed away Monday, July 16, 2007 at St. Francis North Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was a member of McClendon Baptist Church, a graduate of Ouachita High School. He was very active in the West Monroe Jaycees. ¨Whip was a race car driver, a motorcycle rider and an accomplished motorcycle drag racer. He owned Cajun Raceway in Sterlington, LA and The Tri-State Series. He was the owner of Tally-Ho and Deep South Signs and Awards. Jimmie was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Ruth Wilson and a life long friend and brother-in-law: Billy E. Bayles. Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife of 38 years, Nina Williams Wilson; one daughter, Jinina Wilson; two sons, Freddie Wilson and Dustin Wilson; grandson, Johnathon Wilson; adopted family friend, Stacy Moseley; all of West Monroe, LA; sister, Zara Miller and honorary brother-in-law, Roy Kennedy; nieces and their families, Lisa Compton, Lana Price, Lora Alexander, and Lacy Hunter. Pallbearers will be, Gary Davis, Tommy Mercer, James Shirley, Scott Jordan, Josh Cook and Robert Hattaway. Honorary Pallbearers are, Freddy Cook, Billy Bagwell, Dean Hart, Barron Magee and the members of Dreams In Motion. The family would like to thank Dr. Michael Hayward for his outstanding support and Dr. Scott Burkett for giving us a little more time.
