Wayne Fussell officiating. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.Ms. Nugent was born November 12, 1916 and passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Garrett Road congregation, Monroe, LA and Claiborne congregation of Wallace Dean Road, West Monroe, LA. She was faithful to her Lord and attended services until last year.Ms. Nugent is preceded in death by her mother, Minnie Reeves; step-father, Joe Reeves; her husbands, Cathel D. Thomas, Clifford Chance, Jr. and Lonnie Nugent. She was a devoted wife to her husbands. A good and loving mother and a special grandmother to all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was no stranger to hard work. Her talent of drawing was sought after in school. She began sewing at an early age and that became her life?s work. She was an excellent seamstress and leaves behind for us to treasure many artful pieces.Ms. Nugent is survived by her children, Debbie Chance and friend Bubba; Ed Thomas and wife Jewel and Catheline ?Cathy? Thomas Bayles; grandchildren, Lori Brown and husband Mark; David Wade Thomas and friend Shirley; Melissa Collins and husband Larry; Christi Thomas Lear and husband Bryant; Johnathan Lee Bayles; great-grandchildren, Kayla and Megan Brown, T.C. and Paul Collins; Cameron, Victoria and Cooper Lear; Baylee, Lea and Scarlet Bayles. She is also survived by her aunts, cousins and very special friend, Linda Halley.Pallbearers will be Royce Garman, David Reed, Mark Reed, Tommy Freeland, Todd Risinger and Johnnie Hollis.Her brothers and sisters in Christ will honor her in song.Our appreciation is extended to the wonderful staff at Glenwood for their genuine concern and very special care during mother?s visits in the last few years and especially the last few weeks.A special thanks to the Garrett Road and Claiborne congregations for their love, prayers, and visits during mother?s illness. Many thanks from the family to those at the West Monroe Guest House who cared for and personally attended to mother?s needs.
