Funeral service for Jessie “JW” Jackson, 84, of Monroe will be at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 20, 2012 at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church with Bro. Joe Solomon, Rev. Larry Odell, and Rev. Betty Swanson officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. He was a lifelong member of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church. J. W. worked for the New-Star for 25 years then moved to Texas and worked for U. S. Contractors. J. W. had many friends. He loved life and lived it to the fullest; from playing football for Neville High School, riding and racing motorcycles and riding horses. He was a devoted NASCAR fan. He was chosen as King of the Valentines Dance at Avalon Place. Mr. Jackson was born on March 18, 1928 in Arkadelphia, AR and went to be with his Lord on July 17, 2012 at Avalon Place. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rowland and Juanita Jackson; sister, Alita Odell; brother, Bobby Jo Jackson; grandson, James Poe; and great grandson, Shane Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Betty Sue Dixon Jackson; three children, Danny Jackson and wife, Cheri of Liverpool, Texas, Sandra Wood and husband, Jerry of Rayville, LA and Barbara Cook and husband, Marty of West Monroe, LA; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. Mr. Jackson requested that memorials be made to the Northeast Louisiana Autism Society in honor of his grandson, Scott Cook. Visitation will be from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
