Mr. Scott ended his battle with Alzheimer≠s on Friday, August 11th, 2006. He retired from Ark-La Gas Company after 40 years of service and was a veteran of World War II. A member of the First Baptist Church of Swartz, Mr. Scott was a devoted husband, father and granddaddy and the lessons he taught and the memories of the many fishing and hunting trips we had together will last for life times to come. Survivors include his beloved wife of 55 years, Elva Jean Scott; his five sons and their wives, Jeffery and Melba, Gary and Sheryl, Johnny and Cindy, Darrell and Pam, and Rick and BillieJo, all of Swartz; 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren that will all miss him; three sisters, Lurline Cordy, Annie Ruth Winters, and Beatrice Cagle, all of Corpus Christi, TX; and special brother-in-law, J. P. Wyatt.

It has been so long since I've talked with any of you, But I want you to know you are in my prayers at this time of your loss. I remember Mr. Scott well, he was always telling us to be careful, as we rode those motorcycles around the school and the ballfield in Swartz. These are some of my fondest chilhood memories.
