Mrs. Jean Phillips Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Memorial services for Mrs. Jean Phillips, 77, of Choudrant were held Saturday, May 25, 2013 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Choudrant, with Brad Jones officiating. “Mamaw Jean,” as she was lovingly known by many, was born on July 21, 1935 in Little Rock, Arkansas and passed from this life on Thursday, May 23. She is preceded in death by three sisters, one brother, and one grandson, Anthony Wayne Willis. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, H. E. Phillips, Jr. of Choudrant. She is also survived by five children: Kathy Pyle and husband Ed of Frisco, Texas; Beverly Willis and husband Danny of Choudrant; Ricky Phillips and wife Cindy of Choudrant; Debbie Rogers and husband Steve of Camden, Arkansas; and Glenn Phillips and wife Diona of Downsville. In addition to her children, she is survived by thirteen grandchildren: Jon Pyle and wife Julie of Ruston, Jason Pyle and wife Nicole of Camden, Arkansas, Janice Russell and husband Andrew of Arlington, Texas; Misty Savage and husband Daryl of Choudrant, Matt Willis and wife Jennifer of Dubach; Laura Jackson and husband Kenny of Choudrant, Haley Jones and husband Kyle of Pineville, Cody Phillips and wife Jessica of Downsville, Tyler Phillips and wife Erica of Ruston; Shannon Rogers of Camden, Arkansas, Kyle Rogers and wife Amanda of Bentonville, Arkansas; Danielle Heisler and husband Thad of Downsville, and Dusty Phillips of Downsville. Survivors also include sixteen great-grandchildren and her siblings: James Phillips, Myrtle Danley, and Claudell Danley of Houston, and Marie McNabb of Choudrant. Mrs. Phillips was a long-time member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Choudrant. She was also the cafeteria manager at Choudrant High School, where she dedicated 25 years of her life and positively influenced many school children. She will be remembered for her giving heart and her willingness to help anyone in a time of need. To her family, Mamaw Jean will be sorely missed, but her legacy will continue to live on through us. We are thankful to God for the blessing of this wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and we will cherish the memories that we have of her.
