Jarvis Dean Cardwell Funeral services for Jarvis Dean Cardwell, 72, of Simsboro, will be 10:00 AM Monday, November 27, 2006, at the Antioch Methodist Church in Simsboro with Jimmie D. Pyles and Reginald Colvin officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Ruston. Mr. Cardwell left his earthly home and joined his Savior at 12:22 PM, Saturday, November 25, 2006. He battled a brain tumor for seven months before he passed away peacefully, surrounded by his wife and five children at home. Mr. Cardwell was born December 23, 1933 in Butler, TN, to Ida Heaton Cardwell and Eugene Cardwell. He met Mary Francis Price in Shreveport in 1951, and they were married in Antioch Community on March 13, 1952. Mr. Cardwell and Mary lived and raised their children in Antioch. They were members of Antioch United Methodist Church where they served the Lord with love. After serving in the United States Air Force for ten years, Mr. Cardwell worked for the Lincoln Parish School Board, retiring as the Parish Maintenance Supervisor in 1989. Mr. Cardwell was preceded in death by his parents and his half-brother, Jesse Ray Cardwell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Cardwell, and his children; Phillip Cardwell and wife, Sonja, Pam Collinsworth and husband, Keith, Kimberley Fine and husband, Brian, Ruth Best and husband, Jeff, Tim Cardwell and wife, Jennifer, foster daughter, Effie Padula; grandchildren; Miah Broussard, Bethany Cardwell, Alisha Duke, Daniel Collinsworth, Kelly Hammond, Maggie Cathey, Nickie Collinsworth, Ben Collinsworth, Cade Fine, Samantha Fine, Matthew Fine, Daniel Best, Mitchell Best and Lea Anna Cardwell. Great grandchildren are Alise Broussard, Easton Duke, Gannon Duke, Dylan Fine and Sara Fine. Sisters were Wanauth Arney, Shelby Miller and brother, Lonnie Cardwell. Memorials may be made to the Antioch United Methodist Church or the American Cancer Society. Visitation will be Sunday, November 26, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home from 5 PM until 8 PM. The family would like to give special thanks to the Northwest Regional Hospice for all their loving care.
