Funeral services for Mr. James. R. Cotton, 67, will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, February 17, 2007 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Officiating will be Rev. Glen Gore. Interment will follow at Monroe Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mr. Cotton was born on December 17, 1939 and passed away on February 14, 2007. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. Cotton and Helen C. McDonald. Survivors are his wife of 41years, Bonnie Scriber Cotton; son, Jamie Cotton and wife Jennifer; daughter, Penny Cotton Byrnes; brother, Henry ¨Flip McDonald and wife Gayle; sister, Maxine Hatcher; granddaughters, Emily Byrnes and Anna Grace Cotton; aunt, Juanita Wyrick; uncle, Allen Cotton; sister-in-laws, Nellie Canady and Faye Hayes; brother and sister in-laws, Marvin and Diane Scriber and Georgia and Sonny Dean, brother-in-law, Billy Chamblee; mother-in-law, Dora Scriber; many nieces and nephews. Mr. Cotton was a member of Forest Glade Church where he served as a deacon. He was also a retired diesel mechanic and worked for many years at Monroe Sand and Gravel and Scott Truck and Tractor. He served his country in the U.S. Army for four years. Pallbearers will be Cliff Chamblee, Don Canady, Stanley Canady, Scott Hayes, Austin Chamblee and Steve Calhoun. Honorary pallbearers will be Jamie Cotton and Henry ¨Flip McDonald. Visitation will be 5:00PM until 9:00PM, Friday, February 16, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe.
