James “Randy” is preceded in death by his mother and father, BJ and Jean Ramsey.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Wanda; daughter, Amy and husband Patrick; son, James and wife Maribeth, 3 precious grandchildren, Alex Matherne, Chancee and Aubree Ramsey; brother, Barry and wife Debbie; sister-in-law, Bonnie and husband Ronnie Howell; and brother-in-law, John and wife Sheryll Thrower. Nieces and nephews include Lauren Ramsey, Jonathan Ramsey, Todd Jordan, Sean Jordan, Brittany Kiedaisch and Jeremy Vining. His fur babies are Buddy, Rosie, Cookie and Ellie Mae.
Randy loved to work, either for pleasure or necessity. In his younger years, he worked hard to build his home, his parent’s home and several king sized beds along with any ideas his wife dreamed up. He also raised chickens, turkeys, quail and pigs for a time. His love of work guided him to be an accomplished carpenter and a jack of all trades. He started his work career at Cities Service Carbon Plant in Swartz and those skills led to his Master Carpenter position with Monroe City Schools for over 30 years. Later on, he loved to cut the lawn at home and raise a garden. He had a quick temper, but loved to laugh along with any teasing he could start.
Pallbearers will be John Thrower, John Barrett, Kal Hilburn, Jonathan Ramsey, Charles Monroe and Ronnie Howell.
The family would like to send thanks and much love to Dr. Kamm, Dr. Smith and the ICU department and Specialty Hospital at St. Francis Hospital. Each of you has been a wonderful blessing to us.
