Funeral services for Mr. James R. ¨Buddy Henry, 76, will be 10:00 A.M, Saturday, February 24, 2007 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. Officiating will be Jerry Means. Interment will follow at Hamilton Cemetery in Dubach, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe. James Robert Henry was born in Dubach, Louisiana on April 14, 1930. He was one of three children of Reginald Thomas Henry, Sr. and Willie Lula Robinson Henry. He attended Tulane University. Louisiana State University and graduated from Louisiana Tech University in 1950. He resided in Monroe, Louisiana where he worked for Olin Matheson Corporation for almost ten years in their Forest Products Division. He then joined Schlumberger in Houston, Texas and moved with them to New York City in 1965. Mr. Henry worked with companies such as Peat, Marwick, Mitchell; Cone Mills; McMillan, Inc.; and Curtis Packaging in New York and Connecticut. Mr. Henry, with Marcel Henry B1och, was one of the founders of The Hook and Needle, in Westport, Connecticut and it was considered the largest Needle Arts Center in the World. The partnership was dissolved in 2004 and the Old Sasco Mill, where it was housed, was sold. Hook ´n Needle was dissolved. Mr. Henry was a member of the Founders & Patriots, Sons of the Revolution, Sons of the American Revolution, The Huguenot Society of America, Barons of the Magna Carta, Order of the Garter, the Golden Chapter of Pi Kappa Alpha Social Fraternity, The Financial Executives Institute, The Budget Executives Institute, The National Association of Accountants, the United Methodist Church of Dubach, and was a Life Patron of the Strauss Little Theatre Playhouse. Mr. Henry has been included in 'Who's Who in the World', ´Who's Who in the East≠ and 'Who's Who in Finance and Industry'. Mr. Henry served four years in the United States Air Force where be spent one year in a combat zone during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Henry is survived by his partner and life long companion of fifty two 52 years, Marcel Henry Bloch, one sister Mrs. Martha Louise Henry Bonin, one sister-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Killgore Henry Tolson, six nephews, and two nieces and many great nephews and great nieces, as well as, many great-great nephews and nieces. His brother Thomas Reginald Henry, II, preceded Mr. Henry. A celebration of Buddy≠s life will be held at a later date and friends and family will be contacted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor≠s choice. Pallbearers will be Paul Bonin, Jr., Keith Bonin, Johnny Wade, James H. Henry, Lamar Mullican and Rodney Thomas. Visitation will be 5:00PM until 7:00 PM, Friday, February 23, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
