Funeral services for James Porter Hendrix will be held at 2:oo P.M. Friday, March 4, 2022 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Bro. Bill Schooley and Bro. Tim Green officiating. Interment will follow at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens. Visitation will be held Friday from 12:00 P.M. until 2:00 P.M.
James was born July 31, 1932 and passed away March 2, 2022.
He was preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Simmie Hendrix; 2 brothers and 3 sisters; children Wayne Hendrix and Diane Risher, infant grandson Howard James Risher. James was a member of Beacon Church of Christ. He was employed at the paper mill for 44 years.

James is survived by his wife of 70 years, Wanda Hendrix; son Kenneth Hendrix and wife Terri; brother Bobby Joe Hendrix and wife Dot; daughter-in-law Janet Hendrix; grandchildren Stacy Boles, Don Risher, Misty Risher, Kathy Risher, Amanda Hendrix, Ashley Hinton, Crista Sims, Michele Drake and Pamela Steele; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters in Christ.

Serving as pallbearers will be Troy Drake, Andrew Steele, Jeremy Hinton, Tristen Takewell, Blaine Sims and Reed Zeigler.
