Jim was a wonderful Father-in-law, Grandfather. Upon our first meeting he welcomed me into his heart and his home. I miss his ready smile , quick wit and sunny disposition. I see glimpses of these in my boys. And there is a sense of comfort. We love you and we miss you, Caroline and David.

Jimmy was not only the smartest person in Delhi high school in 1947&1948, but he was one of the most likeable and jovial. He always had a ready smile and had a great sense of humor. He did not play sports, but he could outrun me when we played games at PE or recess. If we had had a track team I know he would have excelled in that sport. I well remember the superior role he played in our senior play in 1948. I regret that I didn't have much contact with him after we graduated from high school, even though we both lived in Monroe for years.Jimmy will be sorely missed by his friends and family

Dr. Caldwell taught me two finance courses when I was a student at then-NLU in the mid 80's. He was a gifted teacher and made the courses such an interesting experience. I always enjoyed visiting with him away from class and when I would bump into him around town and hearing of your most recent travel ventures. Please accept my sincere condolences.

In high school, I stood in awe of Jimmy Caldwell; his intellect, energy stood out. My father lost his shirt in Delhi and all of my "friends" pretty well abandoned me, but not Jimmy. His friendship meant so much to me. Helen I did not meet you, but please accept my sincerest condolences.

Dear Helen, So sorry to loose a former neighbor. Jim lived just north of the home where I grew up in Delhi. I spke to Jim recently and he gave no indication of being so ill. He and I have been life-long frinds. I will truly miss him. Warmest regards and God bless, Wilbur Kline
