Funeral services for Mr. James “Ben” Brice 71 of West Monroe will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, February 19, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, LA. Bro. Dwight Munn will be officiating under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Brice was born August 1, 1940 in Dunn, LA and passed away February 17, 2012 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was preceded in death by his wife Gloria Yvonne Brice; son, Gary Bentley Brice and father, James Simpson Brice. He was a member of First Baptist Church where he served as an usher. Mr. Brice was retired from Brookshires as a market manager for over 34 years. Mr. Brice is survived by his daughter Meredith Rowe and husband Rusty; son, Michael Brice; mother, Marian Stout; granddaughter; Maci Brice; grandson; Caleb Rowe; brother; Robert Brice and wife Carol; nieces; Tonja Brice and Kristen Putting and husband Jude; great-nieces; Olivia Putting and Babrielle Putting. Pallbearers will be Jude Putting, Brian Treno, Mark Trammell, David McLemore, Ryan Rowe and Chaz Hunter. Honorary pallbearers will be ushers at First Baptist Church West Monroe. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or charity of givers choice. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to Louisiana Palliative Care, Dr. Scott Barron, Dr. Ron Hammett and Dr. Don Hammett. A special thanks Mr. Randall McDonald who gave Mr. Ben a job at the U-Pak It in Chatham, LA which turned out to be more than a job. Mr. Ben was very fond of the friendships that he made during this time with his co-workers and the customers.
