Jackie H. Martin Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA. Run Date: Friday May 25, 2007 Funeral services for Jackie H. Martin, age 63, of Ruston, LA. will be held 3:00 P.M. Saturday May 26, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel in Ruston, LA. Officiating will be Brother Barry Joyner, Rev. Charles Coleman and Brother Dayton Doughty. Interment will follow at Colvin Memorial Cemetery in Unionville, LA. under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA. Mr. Martin was born September 3, 1943 in Dubach, LA. and passed away Thursday May 24, 2007 in Ruston, LA. following a brief illness. Jackie was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and was employed by Davison Transport. After 36 _ years Jackie retired from truck driving and joined the construction crew of Davison. Some of Jackie≠s hobbies were yard work, gardening and cooking. He also enjoyed camping with his wife Judy, kids and grandkids. In addition to being a devoted husband, Jackie was a caring daddy to his kids and a loving Papa Jack to his grandkids. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Cooper Martin of Ruston, daughter: Jacqueline Atkinson and husband Michael of Ruston; sons: Jeff Martin and wife Lisa of Simsboro, Johnny Martin and wife Cristy also of Simsboro, Jimmy Martin and wife Amanda of Dubach; father: Paul Martin of Dubach; sister: Martha Lewis of Dubach; brother: Ken Martin and wife Bitsy of Dubach LA.; sister Lisa Caver and husband Mike of Dubach; grandchildren Bradlee Martin, Mackenzie Martin, Taylor Atkinson, Chance Martin, and Emily Martin.; numerous nieces and nephews. Jackie was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Alice Oxford Martin of Dubach. Pallbearers will be Robert Earl Minnifield, Modell Robinson, Tommy Ford, Mark Kay, Chuck Turner, Ricky Barmore, Jimmy Robinson and Kyle Martin. Honorary Pallbearers will be Davison Transport employees and Marty Lewis. Visitation will be Friday May 25, 2007 from 5:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel Ruston, LA.
