I am sorry about your dad’s passing. Your dad was my dad’s first cousin. Your dad attended my dad’s funeral in Delhi in 2010. My brother had a wonderful visit with him at my dad’s funeral. I always remember meeting your dad at your grandfather’s house, my uncle Jesse years ago. Your dad reminded me of my dad in his younger years. Your dad reminds me of uncle Jesse’s brother, Sewell in this picture. My grandfather was the twin to Sewell; his name was Bryan Brantly of Homer. Many fond memories of the Brantly family. Praying for comfort for all of you. The James “Buddy” Brantly family, Cara Jo, James, and Janice.

Jackie was my mentor as a young 2LT and I learned many things from him during our time in the 528th Engineer Bn. We became great friends and he taught me to reload ammunition and to shoot accurately. May his family find comfort and solace knowing how well he was liked and respected by all fortunate enough to know him. May he rest in peace.

Praying for God's peace for the Brantly family. Chief Brantly was a commanding presence. His even temper, and ability to bring calm to any storm the 528th encountered earned the respect of all who knew him. I'm proud to have served with him.

To: Jackie "Jack" Brantly Family. We extend our sincere sympathies and heartfelt condolences for your loss of Jack. You must be very proud of his accomplishments in life which made him a great Marine and Soldier. May the Lord provide you with the necessary graces to overcome this loss. A tribute to a great Soldier and Marine. It is the “Marine” In Memorial Honor to Leon CW4 Jackie “Jack” Brantly USMC and Louisiana National Guard It’s the Marine, not the pastor/preacher, who has given us freedom of religion and worship. It’s the Marine, not the reporter, who has given us freedom of the press. It’s the Marine, not the poet, who has given us freedom of speech. It’s the Marine, not the demonstration organizer, who has given us freedom to assemble and demonstrate. It’s the Marine, not the lawyer, who has given us the right to a fair trial. It’s the Marine, not the politician, who has given us the right to vote, ensures our right to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. It’s the Marine, Who salutes the Flag, who serves beneath the Flag and whose coffin is draped by the Flag, who gives the protester the right to burn the flag. The American Marine does not serve and fight because he hates who is in front of him; he serves and fights because he loves who is behind him. ETERNAL REST GRANT HIM O LORD AND LET PERPETUAL LIGHT SHINE UPON HIM.
