Mr. J.T. Bain Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Funeral service for Mr. J.T. Bain, age 70, of Ruston will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Alabama Presbyterian Church. Officiating the service will be Rev. Bill Willis. Interment will follow at Sibley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston. Mr. Bain was born November 11, 1940 and passed away at Grace Home in Shreveport on November 18, 2010 the 49th anniversary of Peggy and J.T. Bain. Mr. Bain was a graduate of Ruston High School in 1958 and graduated from Louisiana Tech in Civil Engineering. Mr. Bain was a member and former Elder of Alabama Presbyterian Church and former Deacon of Highland Presbyterian Church in West Monroe. While in Baton Rouge, he was Vice President and General Manager of Louisiana Concrete Products where he worked for thirty five years. He was Past President of Gulf South Precast Concrete Association and Past President of PCI; he was employed by the US Army Corps of Engineers in Vicksburg, MS for thirteen years from which he retired in 2002 and made their home in Ruston. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, and spending quality time with his grandchildren and other family. He is survived by his wife of 49 years: Peggy Bain of Ruston; daughter: Melanie Johnson and husband Marty of Shreveport; grandchildren: Jared and Mallory Johnson; brother: Mack Bain and wife Shannon of Gladewater, TX; nieces: Ashley Bowers and husband Scott and their children, Landry and Cooper; Nikki Dincans and husband Kyle; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces and other family and friends. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Grace Home, 1700 Buckner St. Shreveport LA 71101 or Alabama Presbyterian Church – 2091 Hwy 145 – Choudrant, LA 71227. Pallbearers will be Jared Johnson, Merrill Goodwyn, Ernest Young, Roger Taylor, Victor Johnston, Mike Fulton, Marvin McFarland, and James Green. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tom Dubose, Fred McClemore, Charlie Hinton, Mike Dubose, Ted Dubose, Ed Bain, Ron Loyd, Terry Williams, and Carol Clark. The family would like to express their appreciation to caregivers Keisha and Tanya for their loving care during Mr. Bain≠s finial days.
