Funeral services for J. D. Lewis, 85, of West Monroe will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 21, 2011, at the First United Methodist Church in West Monroe with Reverend John Tellifero officiating. Interment follows at Salem Cemetery in Eros, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home of West Monroe. Mr. Lewis was born November 11, 1925, in Eros, LA, and passed away June 19, 2011. He was a retired Foreman at Graphics Packaging with 40 years of service and a member of the First United Methodist Church of West Monroe. He was preceded in death by his parents, Phate and Novie Lewis, and a brother, Roy Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen Oglesbee Lewis; two daughters, Wanda Lewis and Debbie Lewis Wilhite and husband Fred; two grandchildren, Stephanie Walker and Staci Parks and her father, Robert Bryant Parks; one sister, Carrie Crowell, a number of nieces and nephews, and his Boston Terrier, “Laci.” Pallbearers are Ricky Lewis, Terry Wayne Lewis, Jerry Dale Crowell, Ray Lynn Crowell, Buford Calhoun, and Gary Thornhill. Visitation is Monday, June 20, from 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe. Donations can be made to the First United Methodist Church of West Monroe.
