LaVon and Family - I was so sorry to hear about the passing of Buddy. He and I had many good telephone conversations picking at each other. I always called him "goat". That was my pet name for him and he took it I did not give him a choice. He will be greatly missed. Know you are in my prayers. Eloise

Mr. Buddy, was a great man and a great Mason and Shriner,, I was at several parades and shrine functions with him with our Flivvers,, He loved the siren and horn on his and would always tell the story of where and when he got it,,, He was a true Christian Man and will be truly missed, May God Bless his family during this time of loss

LaVon and family - So sad to hear of the loss of Buddy. I can truthfully say, "he was a good man". We were very near the same age, him being 90 and I will be 92 on May 6. We both have seen many changes in life, but one thing that has remained constant in both of our lives has been GOD. He has remained the same - NEVER CHANGING. Know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. Lurline

May the Lord Jesus give your family strength at this time of sorrow. It is bitter sweet, but celebrate because he is at peace and walking streets of gold, really railroad tracks of gold with his Maker. Our prayers go to your family. Lori has shared good memories of her dad with me. Praying and knowing that Jesus is with you all right now!!
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.

I vividly remember Buddy meeting the bus of journalism kids at the truck stop in West Monroe on a late evening.....and bringing the latest episode of some current TV show, so the kids on the bus would have instant entertainment. What a guy! Now he rests in Heaven - the ultimate reward!

Ms. O- I am sorry to hear of your father's passing. I remember the stories you use to tell us about Buddy and I know that he was a smart and kind man. I know you have those qualities too and must of gotten them from him. My prayers go out to you and your family during this time.

This might be the best obituary I've ever read. Anyone would know the real Buddy Oglesbee after reading this memorial. What a great tribute to a great man. I knew Mr. Oglesbee through Lori's colorful stories and loving anecdotes. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
