Funeral services for Bud Rodgers, 71 of West Monroe, LA will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, March 14, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bro. Jerry Chapman will be officiating. Interment to follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery West Monroe under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Bud was born May 25, 1940 in Jennie, Arkansas. He graduated from West Monroe High School in 1959, then attended NLU following his education he served in the Air Force stationed in San Antonio, Texas. After completing his service to our country, Bud became a master carpenter and building superintendent for several major construction companies, before launching his own construction company, Timber Tec. Inc. Bud was a longtime member of carpenters Local #1811. He was also a teacher of his craft as he gave his time as a carpenter instructor at the local vocational school. Bud was a loving husband, father, and grandfather who loved his family and put them first and foremost. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ivan “Ike” Rodgers and Wanda Knapps. Mr. Rodgers leaves behind his loving wife of 48 years; Linda Rodgers; son, David Rodgers and wife Diane; daughter; Debbie “LuLu” Counts and husband Steve; grandchildren; Eric Rodgers, Trey Works, Jana Works, Nick Rodgers, and Grant Rodgers; sisters; Gaynell Rodgers Sparrow and Phyliss Rodgers Kolb; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Steve Counts, Denverd Sams, Steve Greer, Mark Cunningham, Chris Cunningham, Patrick Cunningham, James Speller and Richard Arrant. Honorary pallbearer will be Prentiss Johnson. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.
