IRENE MULLER Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA Irene Thomas Muller, 92, died Thursday, August 19, at her residence in Ruston after brief illness. She was born in Shreveport, LA on May 28, 1918, the daughter of Samuel Madison Thomas and Dora Mae Montgomery Thomas. Rev. Jerry Hilbun will officiate a private family graveside memorial service which will be held on Tuesday, August 24 in Quitman, LA. Irene was a long- time resident of Houston and Conroe, TX prior to moving to Ruston to be near her family. Mrs. Muller is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 40 years, Oke W. Muller; her sister, Bettye Thomas Phillips; and her brother, Samuel Madison Thomas II. She is survived by her brother, Harold P. Thomas and wife Mary, Quitman. She is also survived by nephews; Thomas Lamont Phillips and wife Janet, Kenneth Dean Phillips and wife Terri, Ruston; Samuel Madison Thomas Ill and wife Nancy, Largo, Florida; Joseph Allen Thomas and wife Robin, Monroe; nieces Patti Thomas Harper and husband Jerry, Elizabeth Libbi Anne Thomas, Shreveport; sister-in-law, Nita Chapman Thomas, Shreveport; numerous great nieces, great nephews, and special friends and care-takers Marvin and Maguelina Lava. The family wishes the thank Dr. Jake Wood, Carroll Home Health, and Hospice of Caring Hearts for their attentive and loving care they provided to Irene. I am saddened to learn of the passing of my grandmother Irene. Irene cared for me as a newborn while my mother recovered from delivery complications during my birth. Irene and Oke took me on many trips that helped shape my view of the world and took many steps to encourage me to believe in my abilities.
