Horace Langston Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Funeral services for Horace Langston, 85, of West Monroe, La will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, May 26, 2007 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with interment to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Calhoun, La under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, La. Mr. Langston was born at Gravel Ridge, Arkansas, May 5, 1922. He passed this life on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. He was former owner of Langston≠s Brake and Front End Service and Langston≠s Honey of West Monroe. Mr. Langston showed dedication for God and church by serving as a member, board member and recording secretary for Revival Camp Ground Church for many years. Serving as a World War II Veteran having retired from the United States Army as a Master sergeant and a retiree of the Louisiana National Guard, proved his love and dedication to his country. He was also a retiree as a Transportation Technician of the Louisiana National Guard at Selman Field. After his retirement he served as manager and operator of the West Monroe Farmer≠s Market for several years. Mr. Langston settled in the Monroe area around 1948 after marriage to his wife, companion and friend of 59 years, Mary Anderson Langston. He is preceded in death by his parent. James and Lota Langston, brothers and sisters, Flora McDougal, Marie Nutt, Cecil Langston, Ray Langston, Johnny Langston, Rufus Langston and Jim Langston. His spirit and musical abilities, through singing, playing the piano and guitar, has touched and blessed many throughout his life. The dedication he had to church, family and friends is to be admired and will be remembered by many. Memories will be cherished by his wife, Mary Anderson Langston, his children; Jimmy Langston and wife Sherry, Anita Bower and husband L. E., Noel Langston and his wife Sandra all of West Monroe, LA, and Priscilla Langston and fianc© Donnie Council of Houston, TX; and sister and brother-in-law, Francis Roberts and husband Charles of Swartz, LA; grandchildren; Lisa Bevers, Scott Bower, Jamie Langston, Chad Bower, Bradley Bower, Christean Langston; great grandchildren; Ryan Bevers, Brandi Bower, Melissa Bower, Abigail Bevers, Landon Bevers, Owen Langston, Avery Bower, Aiden Bower and Mary Kathryn Bower. Pallbearers will be Kevin Langston, Jim Bob McDougal, Kenneth McDougal, Danny McDougal, Timmy Langston, Jamie Langston, Herman Nutt and Randy Nutt. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Langston≠s grandsons. The family will receive friends today, Friday from 5PM until 8PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, La.
