Mr. Hollis Lamoin SpillersKilpatrick Funeral HomeRuston, LAFuneral services for Mr. Hollis Lamoin Spillers, age 86, of Choudrant, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, February 26, 2008, in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA. Rev. Raymond Crowfoot will be officiating with burial to follow in the Beulah Cemetery in Calhoun, LA under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.Mr. Spillers was born on December 25, 1921 in Calhoun, LA and went home to be with his Lord on February 23, 2008 in West Monroe, LA.Mr. Spillers was a long-standing member of the Choudrant United Methodist Church where he faithfully served his Lord and Savior as a layman and chairman of the board. He loved his country and willingly served during WW II in the South Pacific for 26 months as a member of 202 ND AAA AW Batallion. Mr. Spillers was a wonderful and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and a friend to everyone he came in contact with. He retired from Manville with over 30 years of service. Mr. Spillers had a love for the outdoors as well as the preservation of the outdoors. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and sisters and a grandson, Eric Britt.Survivors include: his wife of 66 years, Willie Etha Spillers of Choudrant, LA; 3 children: William L. Spillers and wife, Nell of West Monroe, LA; Edna Green and husband, Irving of Shreveport, LA; Kathy Britt and husband, Don of West Monroe, LA; 8 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 4 siblings: Prentice Spillers of Ruston, LA; Ocie R. Spillers of Choudrant, LA; Marvin Spillers of West Monroe, LA; and Dot Pesnell of Choudrant, LA; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.Pallbearers will be: Keith Spillers, Rodney Spillers, Rex Green, Rickey Spillers, Kris Spillers, and John Rieger.Honorary pallbearers will be: other grandchildren and great grandchildren.Visitation will be Monday, February 25, 2008 from 5 ? 8 P.M. at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, LA.In lieu of flowers, planned memorials may be made to a local children?s home, Choudrant United Methodist Church, or to the Beulah Cemetery Fund.Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.kilpatrickfuneralhomes.com.
