Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Marie Hobbs Neese, 90 of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, with Rev. Gordon ¨Skip Dean and Rev. Woodson McGuffee officiating. Interment to follow at Hasley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home. Mrs. Neese was born March 8, 1916 in Benton AR and went to be with the Lord on September 13, 2006. She was the youngest of 9 children and was especially close to her sister, Stella Brown. Mrs. Neese retired from Highland Elementary School as a cook. She was a member of Glenwood Hospital Auxiliary. She was an early member of Trinity Baptist Church until she became a charter member of Highland Baptist Church. Both churches were special to Hazel and her husband Woodrow. Mrs. Neese was a prolific and talented artist who created many beautiful oil paintings. She enjoyed cooking her special recipes for family gatherings and church social for many years. Two of her favorite pastimes other than painting were watching the Atlanta Braves and working crossword puzzles. Mrs. Neese was preceded in death by her parents, Dock and Ida Gunter Hobbs; her husband, W.W. Neese; son, Phillip Neese. Mrs. Neese is survived by her sons and daughters-in-laws; Harry and wife Bonnie Neese, Don and wife Sandra Neese; grandchildren; Kim S. Neese, Joey Neese, Paul and Wife Keri Neese, Robbie Clem, and Carmen and husband Michael Maroney; one great granddaughter Chelsea Neese; special nieces and nephews, Kathy Broomfield and Betty Vay Hobbs; nephews; Dale Hobbs, Jimmy Neese, Bobby Neese and Paul Neese. Visitation will be Friday September 15, 2006 from 5PM until 8PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
