Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Frances Wildrick Lee, 92, of West Monroe will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, December 23, 2010 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Bruce McGee and Rev. David Chapman will be officiating. Interment to follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe LA. Mrs. Lee was born June 20, 1918 in Big Cabin, Oklahoma and entered Heaven on December 21, 2010. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kenneth D. Lee, Sr. and a grandson, James Allen Brown. Hazel and Kenneth owned Lee≠s Jewelry in West Monroe for 63 years. She was a true pioneer woman; she traveled with a wagon train from Oklahoma to Arkansas at the age of 5, journeyed to West Monroe to build a life with Kenneth at age 18, was an avid fisherwoman, being the secretary of the Twin Cities Bass Club, sitting on the Cheniere Lake Commission and being a champion bass fisherwoman. She sang beautifully for luncheons, Eastern Star, Social Order of the Beauceant, and church choir at First Baptist and Good Hope Baptist, where she was a member for 62 years and made beautiful quilts with the quilting club. Mrs. Lee was a cancer survivor, and she always had a fun sense of humor and loved to travel. In her later years, when she could no longer back her boat in the garage, she took up Pokeno and Chicken Foot and dearly loved her friends. Mrs. Lee is survived by her son, Kenneth D. Lee, Jr., and daughters; Deanna Lee Coleman and husband Harold, Glenda Saxon Melton and husband Dennis, Mary Lee Erazo and Lisa Lee Phifer and husband Travis; 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a warm thank you to the excellent staff of the Arbor and Terrace who lovingly cared for our Mother these 2 _ years. Their care extended to us and we are so very grateful for every smile and hug. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 23, 2010 from 11:00 AM until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
