Funeral services for Hazel Ann Evans Gewin, 84, of West Monroe will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe with Pastor Ruby Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow at Luna Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 A. M. until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.

Hazel was born February 22, 1939 in Monroe, LA and passed away January 28, 2024 at her home in West Monroe. She loved spending time with her family and cooking Sunday dinner for family. Hazel loved working in her flower beds, working crossword puzzles, watching TV and making memories with her grandbabies, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, James (Jimmy) Clarence Gewin; parents, Robert Lee Evans and Norma Marie Evans and a sister Carolyn L. Barefield.

Hazel is survived by her children, James Christopher Gewin and Becky A. Burke; 2 grandchildren Caitlin C. Rowton and Noel Burke (Tracie); 2 great-grandchildren Asher James Rowton and Axle Wayne Rowton; sister, Norma L. Lenard; brother, Robert M. Evans; special niece Heather Evans and her children Mattison Bailee and Kendal Kole and Kynleigh Layne.

Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Evans, Mickey Evans, Bubba Dupree, Scott Dortch, Bobby Murphy Jr. and Mark Moore.

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Benny Gewin and Robert Evans.

The family will like to send special thanks to St. Francis Medical Center and Dr. Cynthia Pippins and Elara Caring Hospice for their care during this time.
