Harold Sutton Tinsley passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, August 9, 2020 in Arcadia, LA after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness due to a car accident.
Sutton was born in Ruston, LA on April 23, 1955 and was the youngest child of Harold “Tip” and Sarah Jonhette “Pete” Tinsley of Arcadia, LA. He graduated from Cedar Creek School in 1973 and attended college. Sutton’s favorite jobs were Boeing Aviation and The Louisiana Army Ammunition Plant. He had a talent for collecting and fixing mechanical items. He was always known to have a smile on his face and a positive attitude.
In 1991, he married the love of his life, Harryette Bruning Tinsley, originally of Natchitoches, LA. He was a devoted and loving father to Hannah Tinsley and Lauren Tinsley both of Arcadia. Sutton is survived by his mother Sarah “Pete” Tinsley of Arcadia and two sisters and brother-in-law’s Kaye Tinsley Goolsby and Gary Goolsby of Katy, Texas, Renee Tinsley Duchaney and Tim Duchaney of Arcadia. He was a loving uncle to nieces Amanda Hood and Kelsey Kinley Secrest and to nephews Greg Goolsby, Jonathan Hood, and James Rayford Bruning. He is survived also by his sister-in-law’s and brother-in-law’s Janyce Bruning Kinley and Allen Kinley, James Bruning and Kathryn Anthony Bruning and great nieces and nephews; Preston and Avery Goolsby and Tinsley and Thomas Hood.
He was preceded in death by his father Harold Tulsa “Tip” Tinsley and father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Bettye Bruning both of Natchitoches, LA.
Sutton was a dedicated father first and foremost. He treasured the time he spent with his two daughters and wife. He enjoyed traveling with his family, hunting, fishing, and working on his farm. Sutton was always known to help out people in need from family members, to friends, and even strangers.
He and Harryette were members of First United Methodist Church in Arcadia.
Due to the covid pandemic, there will be a Private family service Tuesday, August 11, 2020.
