I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 2 Timothy 4:7A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Ruston, Louisiana, at 11 a.m. for Hannon Joseph Joe Theriot, Jr., a 45 year resident of Ruston who passed away peacefully at the age of 82 on Wednesday, December 13, 2017. Father Frank Folino will be the Celebrant for the Mass and conduct the services. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the church prior to the Mass from 10-11 a.m.Joe was born on August 20, 1935, in Ponchatoula, Louisiana, and graduated from Ponchatoula High School in 1953. He attended Southeastern Louisiana University and served in the United States Army. He began a 35 year career with T.L. James Construction Company in 1958. He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church where he served as an usher for many years.Those he leaves to cherish his memory include his wife of 32 years, Mary Logan Theriot; 3 children: Katie Theriot, Shannon T. Garcia and her husband, Eric, and Darren Theriot and wife, Kim; 3 grandchildren: Caden, Seth, and Emily; and one brother, Earl Theriot and wife, Barbara.Joe was preceded in death by his father, Hannon Joseph Theriot, Sr.; mother, Ella Legendre Theriot; and sister, Dolores Watts.Honorary Pallbearers will include Lou Barber, Charles Fuller, Frank Goodjoin, Richard Jones, Max King, Herman Manuel, Bill Porter, and Clyde Vidrine.Joe sense of humor will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He was a wonderful husband, father, and friend.
