Funeral Services for Mrs. Gwendolyn Williamson Riser, age 90, of Ruston, Louisiana will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2007 at 2:00 P.M. at the Temple Baptist Church Chapel in Ruston, Louisiana. Rev. Dale Oden and Dr. Rick Byargeon will be officiating with burial to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana. Mrs. Riser was born on September 27, 1916 in Simsboro, Louisiana and passed away on January 4, 2007 in Ruston, Louisiana. Mrs. Riser retired from Louisiana Tech University following twenty two years of service as an Administrative Assistant to the Dean of Life Sciences. She was also a very active member of Temple Baptist Church where she was a member of the Good Neighbor Sunday School Class and also active in the circle at Temple. Mrs. Riser was preceded in death by her parents: John Wesley Williamson and Ellen Strother Williamson; her sisters: Grace Calahan, Lillian Calahan, Ermine Napper; brother: Lawrence Williamson; and her husband of 65 years: Mr. Ben Dalton Riser. She is survived by: 3 daughters: Ellen Riser LaCroix of Ruston, Louisiana; Ann Riser Sumlin of Monroe, Louisiana; and Kathy Ellington and her husband, Jay of Montclair, Virginia; Grandchildren: Greg Tania Hilburn of Monroe, Louisiana; Kevin Holley Hilburn of Ruston, Louisiana; Anne Marie Hilburn of Ruston, Louisiana; Chris Ellington & Catherine Fishbaugh of Calimesa, CA; Lindy Roy Burns of Baltimore, Maryland; and Parker Ellington of Ruston, Louisiana; Great Grandchildren: Steven & William Ledford, Seth Hilburn all of Ruston, Louisiana and Landry Burns of Baltimore, Maryland; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be: Greg Hilburn, Kevin Hilburn, Parker Ellington, Roy Burns, Wiley Hilburn, Sammy Riser, and Wayne Causey. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Good Neighbor Sunday School Class. Visitation will be Saturday, January 6, 2007 from 5 7 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston, Louisiana. Planned memorials may be made to the charity of the donor≠s choice.
