Funeral services for Greg Pridgen, 48, of Gurnee, IL will be held at 10:00 AM Thursday, August 9, 2012 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Rev. Rick McFerrin and Rev. Larry Ferris will be officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Greg was a member of First Church of the Nazarene of West Monroe and served in the US Navy. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, a leader and trendsetter, well known for his love of rockabilly style and music. Greg was first and foremost a family man, devoted to his wife, children, parents and sister, and never let the miles separate their hearts. Greg is survived by his wife; Janet Marie Pridgen; children; Justice Noelle and Jake Everette Lee Pridgen; parents, Carson and Ashley Johnson Pridgen; sister, Gretchen Pridgen; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jim and Judy Tansley; sister-in-law, Heidi Tansley; brother-in-law, John Tansley and wife Delma; niece, Katie Tansley; uncle, Noel Johnson and wife Tammy and their daughters, Haley Martin and Kacey Eppinette; special cousin and friend, Scott Johnson; numerous other cousins, aunts and uncles. Greg was preceded in death by his grandparents, Rev. and Mrs. Everette A. Johnson and Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Pridgen. Pallbearers will be Scott Johnson, John Tansley, Rev. William Burtt, Joey Hart, Al Newkirk, Bobby Tickner, Ken Walker, and Jack Windham. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Tansley, Noel Johnson, David Johnson, Dr. Harold C. “Buck” Bounds, David Roark, Jerry Roark, Mike Roark and Robin Roark. An account been set up at Chase Bank for the children of Greg Pridgen. Funds will be used for the children's future education. My heart is grieving for this very difficult loss. I remember when Gregory cried tears of happiness at his wedding to Janet. Love you Janet, Justice and Jake. Thinking of you always.

My thought and prayers go out to the entire Pridgen family. Greg was such a wonderful person and it was so great to work with. He was always so positive and very focused. I considered Greg a good friend and mentor. Greg you will be missed!

Greg was a great storyteller and loved sharing about his life. Even if he was repeating a story he already shared, he'd tell it again with even more excitement! He taught me so much about living life to the fullest, having the courage to stand up for what I believe in, and having the right priorities. Long story short, he was a true mentor and leader, and I'll never forget all his words of wisdom. Rest in peace.

Greg was a teenager when I first met him in his home with his sister Gretchen and his parents, Ashley and Carson. This wonderful family took me into their family while I was here for graduate school. I came to love each of them and Greg became the little brother that I never had. I was so proud of what Greg did with his life. He was so easy going, kind and considerate. I am sure that he was a wonderful husband and father as he was a wonderful son. His leaving this world so early is an incredible loss for his family and many, many friends. Heaven has gained with his arrival. I would love to have seen the moment when Greg first was greeted by his grandparents, Everett and Beverly. Indeed, Greg was loved and will be missed.

Dear Ashley, Carson, and Gretchen: Words cannot express the loss that you are enduring. Our thoughts and prayers have been, are, and will be with you in this time of sorrow. I also had the privilege of working with Greg. His contributions to the team were marvelous, and his presence was a treasure. Many times, a hallway conversation with Greg was the highlight of the day. He will be missed. All the best to Janet, Justice and Jake - he was full of adoration for and dedication to his family.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Greg√É¬¢√É¬Ñ√É¬¥s sudden death and I would like to express my sincerest sympathies. I worked with Greg for several years and he became not just a co-worker but a friend. I enjoyed working with Greg and I appreciated that he was so open to sharing with me or anyone else, all the knowledge he had gained in his career. But I especially admired him for his devotion and loyalty to his family, and the love and pride he had for his children. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Greg - It was very nice working with you at WAG and at Catalyst. You made everything seemed so easy and positive. I will miss you. My memories of Greg of like those of a big brother who grew up with me, spent holidays with me, and shared good and bad times with me; and, whose family was and is today a part of my own. I worked with Greg for many years at Walgreens and then Catalyst Rx. Greg was the nicest guy I had the privilege of working with at Walgreens/Catalyst. He loved talking about his family and dogs.
