Funeral Services for Gracie Lou Huckaby Hall will be at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 22, 2020 at Cook Baptist Church under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home ~ Ruston. Rev. Mike Mitchell will officiate. Interment will follow at New Ebenezer Cemetery in Castor, LA.
Gracie Lou Huckaby Hall was born in Castor, LA on July 8, 1946 to Lee J. Huckaby and Vera Russell Huckaby. Gracie was born at home and was premature only weighing 3lbs. 2 oz. She was taken to the clinic in Hodge, LA where the nurses nicknamed her “peanut.”
Gracie was full of life and love for others. She was an encouragement and inspiration to everyone who knew her. During her life she suffered through numerous back surgeries and survived a bout with cancer, but she never let her trials keep her down or dampen her positive attitude. She loved the Lord with all her heart and was faithful to share that love with everyone she encountered. She will be greatly missed.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Vera and by her youngest brother Roger Huckaby. She is survived by her two sons, Billy Meyers and his wife Shannon of Ruston, LA and Eddy Meyers and his wife Bonney of Cabot, AR; five grandchildren, Jeff, Kaitlyn, Hollen, Megan, and Nate Meyers; her brother Johnny Huckaby and his wife Eileen of Shreveport and her many nieces and nephews.
Gracie’s favorite verse was Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Her life was an example of relying on God to provide strength through difficulty.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Patterson, Bentley Fitzpatrick, Brein Fitzpatrick, David Conley, Aub Ward, and Russell Flint.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. on Monday, September 21, 2020 at Cook Baptist Church.
