Mrs. Gloria Torrence Stegall Funeral services for Gloria Torrence Stegall, 70, of Farmerville will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at the Farmerville United Methodist Church in Farmerville with Rev. Truman Skagg and Rev. Johnny Hankins officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Nebo Cemetery. Mrs. Stegall was born on August 22, 1940 in Springhill, Louisiana and went to be with our Lord on Friday, January 7, 2011. She was an active member of the Farmerville United Methodist Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for many years and participating in many activities of the church. She loved cooking for people and trying new recipes; and her cooking was often a ministry to sick or grieving people. Mrs. Stegall was a teacher for 32 years in Missouri, Arkansas and Louisiana. Above all else, she loved her family and was a fully devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Stegall was preceded in death by her father, L. G. Torrence, her mother, Marie McGarity Torrence, and her beloved grandson, Scott Daniel Stegall. Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Larry Stegall of Farmerville, and her children Kim Stegall McCrary and husband Ricky; Karen Stegall Dunham and husband Marty of Murray, KY; and Jeff Stegall of West Monroe. Her grandchildren are Rachel McCrary, Brian McCrary, Reagan McCrary, Sophie Dunham, Wyatt Dunham, Keith Stegall, Addey Stegall and Alaina Stegall. She is also survived by her siblings Janet Gremillion of Fairhope, Alabama; Beth Correro of West Monroe; Nancy Howard of Shreveport; and Gary Torrence of Springhill. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Brian McCrary and Keith Stegall, Sons-in-law, Ricky McCrary and Marty Dunham, and special friends Lavelle Ivy and Stein Baughman, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Andrews and Stan Bacle.
