Our beloved Mom, Granny, Aunt, and friend, Gloria Northcutt peacefully left this life to join her heavenly family and heavenly father on February 7, 2024, at the fabulous age of 97. Gloria was born September 7, 1926.
Gloria had many talents but her favorite activity was oil painting. She enjoyed sharing her paintings with friends and family. Winning many awards and ribbons in art shows over the years. Flowers and gardening were her second joy. You could find her in the yard on most days with her rake and work gloves even well into her 90’s. She knew about all types or plants and flowers and loved fragrant pink and red roses.
She enjoyed sitting around the kitchen table with family for some good competition and laughs playing canasta, rook, dominoes, or scrabble. You didn’t have to ask her twice if you wanted to go fishing. She would grab her pole and her tackle box was always ready.
Gloria retired from the Business Office at St. Francis Medical Center.
Gloria is preceded in death by her husband, Billy Northcutt, mother Velva Ramsey, her sisters, Joy, Esther, Ruth, Birdie, and Dolly.
She is survived by her 2 children, Karen Sue Carter and William Michael Carter, a grandson, Ryan Patrick Carter and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and a doggy granddaughter.
Gloria was blessed to have wonderful doctors, nurses, and caring staff at St. Francis Medical Center, the NE Louisiana Veteran’s Home, and CenterWell Home Health over the last few months. An extra thank you to her niece, Paula Rizzo, for the delicious food and companionship and to Dr. Byron Henry.
