Funeral services for Glen B. Cloyd, 75, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 20, 2011 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home Chapel West Monroe. Rev. James Gardener will officiate. Interment will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery Calhoun under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe. Mr. Cloyd was born September 21, 1935 in West Monroe and passed away January 16, 2011 in West Monroe. He served in the United States Air Force and was a member of McClendon Baptist Church. Mr. Cloyd was a retired pipeline welder for over 45 years and was a member of the Local 798 pipe fitters union. His hobbies were hunting, fishing and especially cooking. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and 2 brothers. He is survived by his wife; Geraldine Cloyd; son, Keith Cloyd and wife Karen; daughter, Carolyn Langley and fiancé Lee Hargis; sister, Effie Jane Martin; grandsons; Johnny Cloyd and Jeremy Cloyd, Nathan Turnage and Sammy Turnage; granddaughter; Nicole Tolbert; 3 great-grandchildren; J.D. Cloyd , Colin Cloyd and Samuel Turnage; numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Bruce Cloyd, James Malcomb Kuhn, Bob Taylor, Johnny Pillers, Kevin Kuhn and Rob Tolbert. Honorary pallbearers will be Keith Edwards and Darrell Martin. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 19, 2011 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe.
