Gladys Virginia Moore Spears Kilpatrick Funeral Home West Monroe, LA Gladys Virginia Moore Spears, 88 of West Monroe, LA formerly of Farmerville, LA passed on from this earthly life to God≠s glorious life on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Landmark Nursing & Rehab Center. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 22, 2007 at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Farmerville, LA. Interment will follow in Zion Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Spears was born October 27, 1918 in Union Parish to the union of Rosa Tucker Moore and Floyd Clark Moore. She was an excellent homemaker and worked with her husband in business a number of years. Mrs. Spears was a gracious, hospitable, Christian lady who always welcomed her family and many friends into her home. She had a servant≠s heart and taught youth and young adults in Sunday school classes at Zion Hill Baptist where she was a faithful member for many years. The Sunday school class was named for her upon her retirement due to health concerns. Her children, children-in-law, grandchildren and friends will remember her loving, caring ways and sweet smile which lit up her eyes. Mrs. Spears was preceded in death by her husband Marvin D. Spears to whom she was married 58 years. She was also preceded in death by her parents and infant sister, Reba Moore. Survivors include; her son Michael D. Spears and his wife Susan; daughters Sue Green and husband Ronnie, Beth Coplin and husband Wendell all of West Monroe, LA; seven grandchildren: David Green, Michelle Bell, Catherine Jetzel, Caroline Nichols, Jonathan Spears, Brian Coplin and Karen Rigal. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and two sisters Lovie Ledbetter and Rosa B. Edwards. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law; David Green, Jonathan Spears, Brian Coplin, Bob Bell, Claes Jetzel, Barry Nichols, and Chad Rigal. The family will receive friends at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Friday, September 21, 2007 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Saturday at Zion Hill Baptist Church from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Memorials may be made to Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund or to the charity of your choice.
