Ginette Pierrette Angèle Bauchet Jennings, 91, of West Monroe, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 20, 2023.
Ginette was born December 15, 1931 in Paris, France. When she was 4 years old, her family moved about 20 miles south of Paris, to the little village of Arpajon. Her mother became the concierge of a newly built 4 story modern building, first of its kind, in Arpajon where the family would reside. The family experienced many scary times during WWII, but survived the war and their home remained intact. Ginette lived in Arpajon until her arrival to the United States in 1948. She loved the ease of life here and the friendliness of the people who helped her adjust to living in the United States. Her love of life was shown by how quickly she made friends in her church family and the community. She enjoyed reading, playing games, crossword puzzles, listening to music (especially Pavarotti), traveling, quiet times on the back porch, and especially loved weekend day outings with her husband, Gene. She was blessed to be able to make many trips back to France to visit her sister and where she grew up. She and Gene made several exciting trips around the world too. Weekly she and her friends would meet for a challenging card game or dominos, of which she excelled at; giving credit to her Papa who taught her games growing up. She will be remembered by her cute French accent, sweet attitude and her love for her friends, family, and husband.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcel Edmond Bauchet and Eugènie Margat Bauchet Galabrun.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Roy Eugene “Gene” Jennings; his adored children, Ellen Kay and husband, Keith of Keller, Texas; Stephan Jennings and wife Kimberly of North Fort Myers, Florida; Ginette’s children- Darrell Frazier and wife, Lana of Frisco, Texas, Shirley Martin and husband, Ronnie of Baton Rouge, David Frazier and wife, Helen of Little Rock, Arkansas. She was the adored “Meme” to 10 grandchildren, Lance Kay, Lucas Kay, Christopher Frazier, Jimmy Frazier, Lara Frazier Bostelmann, Amy Frazier Scott, Hank Bingham, Benjamin Bingham, Adam Martin, and Joshua Frazier. She is also survived by 14 great -grandchildren, and sister, Christiane Bauchet Getto Gallet.
Serving as pallbearers will be Paul Benjamin, Kenny Solley, Mike Flemister, Joe Casiday, Gary Davis and Billy Matejowsky.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Bro. John Dobbs and Forsythe Church of Christ.
