Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine H. 'Geri' Knighten, 58 of West Monroe will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, December 30, 2011 at Faith Tabernacle Church, 1905 Auburn Ave., Monroe, LA with Pastor John Wesley Jones and Bishop Benny Jones officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt. Olive Cemetery, West Monroe, LA, under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA. Mrs. Geraldine H. Knighten went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, December 27, 2011 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Knighten was born on August 12, 1953 in Jennings, LA to Mr. Dave Hebert and Elda LaComb Hebert. She was preceded in death by her brothers Roland and Anthony Hebert. Survivors include her husband Roy Knighten of West Monroe; her two daughters and sons-in-law Monica and Trey Pickering of West Monroe and Angela and Scott Brantley of Farmerville, LA; two sons and daughters-in-law Michael and Monica Knighten of Florence, MS and Jason and Helen Knighten of West Monroe, LA; her parents Dave and Margret Hebert of Lake Arthur, LA and Elda Hebert and companion Sidney Monceaux of Ragley, LA; one sister and brother-in-law Kathy and Harry Duprie of Lake Arthur, LA; and one brother and sister-in-law Donald and Pam Hebert of Jennings, LA; one brother-in-law Bishop Benny Jones; one half brother Kenneth Hebert; two half sisters Janelle Sonnier and Gail Thibodeaux all of Lake Arthur, LA; numerous step brothers and sisters; five grandchildren Mark Redmond, Mackenzie and Macie Knighten all of West Monroe, LA, Shelby and Madison Knighten of Florence, MS; and many cousins, nephews, nieces, and friends who love her very much. Pallbearers will be B. J. Jones, Daniel Allen, Tommy Rhodes, Donald Hebert, Jr., Jerryd Emory, and Curtis McKenzie. Honorary pallbearers serving are Brad Duprie, David Underwood, Marty Underwood, Rob McKenzie, and Roger McKenzie. Visitation will be held Thursday, December 29, 2011, from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Faith Tabernacle Church, 1905 Auburn Ave., in Monroe, LA.

Mrs.Geri will be missed at the Wal-Mart Pharmacy. She was so precious. Always with a word of encouragement or a laugh to share. Thoughts and prayers to the family and thank you for sharing this precious lady with our community.She was a blessing to all that passed her way!

Mrs. Geri will be missed greatly by all who knew her. I remember back when she first started working at Wal-Mart Pharmacy with me and Ms. Mary Alice. We all had such a good time. I loved her so much. I know that the Lord must have needed her more than us. We have been blessed because she touched our lives. Love you Geri!! Mr. Roy, you and your family will be held up in many prayers. Even when we can't see down the road, God knows and prepares us for what is best. I pray that God puts His arms of love and peace around you. Love you all!

I thought I was only a customer to Geri at Walmart, but come to find out she was married to one of my Knighten kin. It's a small world. Geri was the sweetest person at Walmart. When I came walking up she was already putting me in the system and my birthdate. You don't find many that can do that! The other day I went to pick up some prescriptions and they got it all messed up. I was so upset, I started crying and said this wouldn't be happening if Geri was here! I miss Geri for more then her hard work, but also her beautiful smile and those glasses down on her nose.HA HA Geri, my whole family is going to miss you dearly!! When I walked into Walmart today to visit the Pharmacy and learn about this precious soul, my heart is sad for your lost. I will miss her so I cannot imagine your lost and pain. I've had the opportunity to work with mrs geri at walmart a few years im so sorry for her loss. She was a smiling, energetic, beautiful, loving, and fun person to be around. I don't even know where to begin. I just found out about Mrs. Geri and cried. I worked with her at Wal-Mart while I was in school at ULM for 6 years. Her & Mary Alice taught me all about the OTC world! I am so sad about this news and I will miss her dearly. Love you Mrs. Geri.

Geri used to help my mom in the pharmacy years ago - my mom passed away in 1999. I just saw Geri last week, and as always, she remembered me and had that great smile on her face. It's nice that I can write this note so that you will know how many lives she touched in such a positive way over the years. She was a special person.
