Run Date: Sunday June 3, 2007 Photo: Yes Funeral services for George Thomas Tom Emory, Sr., age 63, of Ruston, LA. will be held 2:00 P.M Sunday June 3, 2007, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Ruston. Officiating will be Rev. Rolly Walker, Rev. Fred Wideman, and Rev. Andy Hurst. Interment will follow at Sibley Cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA. Mr. Emory was born August 25, 1943 and passed away June 1, 2007 following a brief illness. Tom was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and Faith Fellowship Life Group. He retired from Louisiana Tech University after 40 years as a systems engineer and was a United States Navy Veteran. He was preceded in death by his brother Judson Emory. Mr. Emory was survived by his wife Yvette Foreman Emory of Ruston son: George Thomas Emory Jr. and wife Kasey of Ft. Worth, TX. daughter: Marla Emory St. John and husband Mark of Choudrant; granddaughter: Mia Alexandra; brothers: Roy Emory, W.R. ¨Pat Emory and John Emory Sr. and wife Sallie. Visitation will be Saturday June 2, 2007 from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M at Kilpatrick Funeral Home Ruston, LA. Tom had such a profound impact on so many folks. When I was an undergraduate and graduate student in electrical engineering at La. Tech, Tom was an ever present help and provided the students with the ultimate in service -- and always with a smile and bit of humor. Tom was one of the nicest, hardest working individuals I have ever met. When I first came to LA Tech, we became friends, and I quickly learned that Tom was someone who could be relied on for everything from an op-amp to a network router to a friendly piece of advice. There were many times that Tom and I stood in the parking lot between Nethken and the Engineering Annex and just talked. He was extrmly smart but just as easy going. I am absolutely floored by Tom's passing, and near tears as I type this. It is only the fact that I am out of the country that causes me to leave this online condolance and not be there in person. My thoughts are with Tom's family during this diffcult time.
