Thinking of my son
Glenn Ann Sherer left a message on May 19, 2017:
My sympathies go out to you, Alice, Buddy and Mike's sister (I'm sorry, I forgot your name). From the moment Mike met our son they were instantly best friends. The moment Mike walked into our home in Fremont, CA, he was instantly a part of the family. There was nothing he wouldn't do to help my husband, Chris, or me. He would see Chris dong yard work and say, "Hey Chris, let me help you with that." Or "Hey Mom, I'll do the dishes, put them down!" He was a light in our lives, always generous. I can still hear his laugh, see his smile, feel his hugs. I still feel him in my heart. And I'm a better person for having him in my life. He was a great friend to my son, Justin. He was a sn to my husband and I. He was a brother to our younger son, Randy. He was and is an endearing and significant part of our family. I'm so thankful that thru all these years he has made it a point to stay in contact with us.Mike was and is well loved. His heart knew no boundaries. Now I have to be honest. There was a side to both Mike and my son, Justin not always becoming. As boys will be boys, well, what one didn't think of, the other did! They kept us on our toes didn't they Alice? Times got hard now and then. But for the most part, everything back then turned out ok. If we only knew then what we know now...Alice, I've already said this to you, but once again, Thank you for sharing your precious son with us. We love him very much. He is forever embedded in our hearts, lives and memories. He is a part of all of us, forever. We we will see him againMuch love,Glenn Ann and Chris Sherer

One of the last things Mike said to me was how much he wanted to show his family he loved them and wanted to do right by them. Our friendship goes back at least 25 years and his family has always been at the forefront of what mattered to him, along with his love for animals and his desire to do better. I am sorry for the loss to his family and his friends, including myself. There are many things I will never forget about Mike but two of my favorites are his great big beautiful smile and the way his face lit up every time I saw him. I will miss my friend... "I feel wonderful because I seeThe love light in your eyesAnd the wonder of it allIs that you just don't realize how much I love you"
Peace of mind is a call away. We're here when you need us most.
