Funeral service for Mr. George Edward Stamper, II, 91, of Monroe, La. will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 23, 2018 in the chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Home-1200 Lamy Lane Monroe, LA. Longtime friend and Neighbor, Mr. Glen Gore will provide the Eulogy. Interment will follow in the Stamper family plot at Welcome Home Cemetery-Grayson, LA. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 22, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.Mr. Stamper was born December 20, 1926 in Holum, LA and passed away in Monroe, LA on May 20, 2018. He was a WWII Veteran in the United States Navy and was a longtime member of the Lions Club contributing 62 years of faithful service. He was a barber by trade (52 years) and made numerous friends at Northside Barber Shop in Monroe. He was also a true friend to everyone and he was real southern gentleman. He will be remembered as a great outdoorsman and avid hunter.Papaw hunted this last fall and killed a nine point buck. He loved his family dearly and he will be missed, but in our hearts forever.Mr. Stamper was preceded in death by his Parents, Isaac and Clora Stamper and a sister, Hedy Stamper. Surviors include his wife of 69 Years, Billie Jean Stamper, two sons, Gary Walker Stamper (Shelia) and Glenn Edward Stamper (Vicki); four grandchildren, Michael Stamper, Scott Stamper (Donna), Timmy Stamper (Sarah) and Jason Stamper; four great grandsons, Jacob, Aaron, Caleb, and CameronPallbearers will be His Grandsons and friends. Honorary Pallbearers will be Lovell Hayden and Ken Anderson.
